This low mountain range rises between Alsace and the Black Forest, the climate and nature are unique in Germany's sunniest area. Vital, robust vines thrive on the volcanic soils, perfectly grown in airy mineral loess/loam. The vines are planted in its highest layers in eastern Kaiserstuhl. Souvignier gris is a mushroom-resistant white wine variety newly bred in 1983. The variety has good peronospora resistance and a very good resistance to oidium and botrytis. These properties make it possible to reduce the number of plant protection measures even in wine-growing regions with higher rainfall. Crossroads of Cabernet Sauvignon x Bronner.
