The red grape Malbec originates from France, but today the area under cultivation of the Malbec vine - in its courtry of origin - is only 19%. However, there is one country that has embraced the production of Malbec wines like no other: Argentina. It was here that the Malbec grape was imported by French immigrants in the 1850s. The climatic conditions suited the Malbec vines so well that it went from a blend grape to a superstar. Even today, there are numerous stories of emigration behind the Malbec wines.
