About the wine
Blooming and fertile landscapes of Emilia-Romagna give us these grapes, from which the winemaker from the Italian winery Balia di Zola conjures up this red wine with refinement and experience. Tasting note
Intense purple with purple reflections. Very complex on the nose with notes of plums, ripe cherries, caramel and fine wood. Complex and round on the palate, with juicy tannins. There are aromas of ripe blackberries, some chocolate and warm roasted notes. Great potential with a long and harmonious finale.
Culinary recommendation
Goes well with barbecues and game dishes in autumn.
Vinification
This wine comes from the estate's oldest Sangiovese vineyards. The vines are over 40 years old and the yield is correspondingly low. After hand harvesting and crushing the grapes, they are mashed in steel tanks without the addition of artificial yeast. New, French 350 liter tonneaux are used for the maturation, and the young wine ages in them for twelve months. This is followed by a bottle aging of around ten months.
