Rebruno 2016 - Montenero

About the wine

This is still a very small and younger family-run business. Just 7 ha of vineyards (and 3 ha of olive groves) are cultivated here organically and only for a few years, the Montenero project has only existed since the 2015 vintage! Everything is still young, fresh and familiar here, and so are the wines, wonderfully clear, minerally lively and natural wines, open and fresh, no dust, no tradition that is difficult to bear, but ideally the taste of indigenous grape varieties and the magnificent terroir near Montalcino at the foot of the Monte Amiata volcano. It's going to be a very nice friendship again!

Tasting note
Leaving the church - this is a very shy creature at first, far from sin, thinks everything beautifully, at first a sweet breath, and then, over time, the turning away, the more marked, feister, tart sides in this so innocent, sensual and light, dark fruit for Sangiovese. And on the palate, the spiritual, transcendent, purity and elegance of the red fruit, but also pure with one's own needs, thaws, appears more and more, direct and tart, dares the tannins more, peculiar, tart, brittle, but that doesn't seem harsh, but liberatingly lustful. It's wonderful how a sensitive, intellectual side is enriched here with more researched delights. Feiste finesse!
Culinary recommendation
Flaschenpost team tip: Rebruno goes perfectly with pizza, pasta and lamb.
Vinification
Selective reading by hand. Temperature-controlled fermentation with vineyard's own yeasts mainly in concrete tanks, partly in wooden barrels, maturation for 36 months in large oak barrels (3000l), then 12 months in bottle.
