Climate change is already very evident in southern Burgundy. On average, it is 1.5 degrees higher here than it was 30 years ago. The village of Monthelie also has something to nibble on. Nicolas counters this by always allowing 100% whole grapes of the wines from the region to ferment, thus giving the wines a hint of “extra tannin”. You can already feel the extra freshness in the nose, but on the palate, at the latest, we notice the kick with aromas of juniper and liquorice. A wine that, despite 14.5% alcohol, looks very fresh and elegant and is therefore certainly also a wine for non-Pinot lovers.
