Tasting note
“Atticus writes: “A good wine should take you on a journey. He should make you feel something.” This dark cherry-red wine delights the nose with strong aromas of strawberry jam, black cherries, cranberries, some paprika, coffee and a touch of toast. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied and juicy, with lots of sweet red fruit, spicy vanilla aromas and a slightly smoky touch. Soft tannins lead to a long finish with red fruit aromas. A real “crowd pleaser” for uncomplicated enjoyment.”
Culinary recommendation
It goes well with all kinds of meat dishes, pasta, pizza, barbecues, game, cheese.
Vinification
“The “Lost Poet” is a project by Winc winemaker Ryan Zotovich and the young poet and New York Times bestselling author Atticus. Carefully selected grapes from various locations in California are harvested by hand and vinified separately by grape variety. After fermentation in stainless steel tanks, it is aged for approx. 14 months in French oak barrels (approx. 40% new wood) before the various wines are blended into this cuvée.”
