About the wine
Fertile and blooming landscapes of Tuscany give us these grapes, from which the winemaker from the Italian winery Bibbiano conjures up this red wine with refinement and sensitivity. With the outstanding Sangiovese 2011 — Chianti Classico Gran Selezione DOCG, you can offer your family and friends something very special. The Flaschenpost team guarantees a culinary experience when you offer this Sangiovese with pasta or lamb.
Tasting note
Intense ruby red. Intense, very complex, with subtle fruity notes reminiscent of Amarena cherries and plums. This is followed by a fine hint of tobacco and forest fruit, combined with a pleasant note of balsamic vinegar. On the palate, a full grain paired with elegance. Very balanced and harmonious. Ripe tannins that give the wine a good structure and a long finish.
Culinary recommendation
Goes well with beef and lamb, typical Tuscan stews, game and mature hard cheeses.
Vinification
The grape harvest was carried out by hand on October 10 and 15, 2010. After alcoholic fermentation, mashing followed for about 25 days. The wine then matured for 24 months, partly in tonneaux, French oak barrels, partly in Slavonian oak barrels. After bottling, the wine remains in the bottles for about 6 months to refine before being sold.
