About the wine
With the powerful Shiraz 2013 — Chateauneuf-du-Pape AC, nuances and accents are redefined. The wine-growing areas of the French winery Domaine du Grand Tinel extend across the landscapes of the Côtes du Rhône, where the experienced winemaker produces this red wine. Flaschenpöstler tip: Combine this Shiraz with barbecue or venison.
Tasting note
Spicy nose with aromas of violet, pepper, cloves and black cherries. The tannins are balanced and well integrated with a long finish.
Culinary recommendation
Goes well with beef, game, lamb and Mediterranean cuisine.
Vinification
Blend of 80% Grenache and 20% Syrah in river sediment with “galets roulés”, average age of vines 74 years. The grapes are destemmed and crushed, fermentation at a controlled temperature in stainless steel tanks, must and mash are mixed. Syrah aged for 12-18 months in large barrels. Grenaches rich in tannins for 12 — 18 months in large barrels and barriques, the softer ones in stainless steel to preserve fruit, finesse and elegance. The final cuvée just before bottling.
