About the wine
The Spanish term FIEL means loyal. In doing so, the bodega wants to express that the wine is stored in barricas for around 1 year using the previously common method, followed by a long period of bottle aging. In previous years, barricas were reused annually because the bodegas were often unable to afford extended barrel aging. With this wine, Bodegas Briego refers to this traditional, old method of pressing

Tasting note
The Briego Fiel DO's playful aromas of black cherry, chocolate and cooked blackberry express a lot of complexity with a very individual structure. Afterwards, the playful nuances of prune, clove and marmalade reveal their own character. That stays in the memory: Its exquisite ruby red gives every occasion a special touch. A strong body and present acidity result in the fruity red wine, which harmoniously shows a lot of character and class in the mouth with fine tannins.
Culinary recommendation
Goes well with hearty beef and lamb dishes, pot roast, chorizo, spicy semi-hard and hard cheeses.
Vinification
Hand-picked, Vinedo La Naval, at almost 1000 meters above sea level. 20 months in barrique ageing in American and French oak barrels.
