About the wine
The winemaker from the Italian winery Poderi Colla masters this red wine with sensitivity and intuition in the blooming and fertile landscape of Piedmont. Tasting note
Medium ruby red. On the nose, red currants, rose hips, warm spices, some dried fruit. Full-bodied on the palate, with noticeable, fine-grained tannins. Present but well-integrated acid. Strong, well-accented texture. Bussia presents itself as a classic Barolo with a long, elegant finale.
Culinary recommendation
The perfect choice with brasato di manzo, tagliatelle con tartufi or wild boar.
Vinification
The Nebbiolo grapes for the “Bussia” come from the vineyard of the same name above La Morra. Grape selection and gentle squeezing are followed by mash fermentation in stainless steel tanks. The young wine is then aged and refined in wooden barrels, some of which are new, for 24 to 28 months in Slavonian and French wooden barrels. The wine then ages in the bottle for a further twelve months.
