About the wine
When Franco Scamperle had to take over the management of the estate from one day to the next as a freshly baked oenologist following a serious work accident involving his father at the end of the eighties, Le Salette was a completely unknown winery that produced a few bottles of Amarone La Marega in addition to Valpolicella and Recioto. Since then, he has put his modern and innovative ideas into practice and has constantly improved the quality of his wines.

Tasting note
The elegance of the fruit is expressed, as is the tough intensity of the drying process: leather, resin, plum, raisin and a touch of tobacco and licorice. Smooth and silky, with notes of black cherry and dried cranberries, velvety tannins and accents of star anise, dried rosemary and sage that reverberate on the juicy, long-lasting finish. The mouthfeel is richly structured.
Vinification
After careful selection of grapes during manual harvesting, the grapes are dried for about 4 months. By the time the grapes are ready to be pressed, they have lost 40% of their original weight.
