Picturesque landscapes of Burgenland give us these grapes, from which the winemaker from the Austrian Weingut Wellanschitz conjures up this red wine with refinement and sensitivity. Tasting note
Deep dark ruby garnet, opaque core, violet reflections, delicate brightening of the edges. Delicately tobacco-like, fine herbal spices, a hint of heart cherries, subtle touch of precious wood, ripe plums. Complex, close-meshed, extract-sweet and adherent, juicy and sweet, fine, bearing tannins, very good balance, chocolaty touch on the finish, very good length, safe aging potential.
Culinary recommendation
Our recommendation: The perfect drinking temperature for the organic red wine is a slightly chilled 16°-18°C. The following period is the ideal enjoyment phase of this wine: now until 2030+. Flaschenpost team recommends this Well Blaufränkisch for steak, pasta with porcini mushrooms and lamb.
Vinification
Hand harvesting, manual sorting before processing, spontaneous fermentation for 30 days in a 6000 l wooden fermentation rack, undercutting the mash cake by hand, then biological acid degradation, maturation in 500 lt. barrels.
