About the wine
Kompassus is a reputable winery in the Bairrada region, known for its high-quality production and commitment to traditional Portuguese grape varieties. The Verdelho DOC Bairrada 2016 impresses with lively aromas of citrus and tropical notes, complemented by well-balanced acidity and elegant minerality, which perfectly expresses the region's terroir.

Tasting note
Convincing nose of floral aromas and roasted components. Very concentrated, with a hint of saltiness on the palate. Sumptuous fresh fruit of citrus fruits, green apples, quinces with floral nuances. Elegant and harmonious mouthfeel with a long mineral finish.
Culinary recommendation
Goes well with aperitifs, Asian cuisine, fresh and saltwater fish, seafood, Mediterranean cuisine, poultry, asparagus, vegetables.
Vinification
Only Verdelho from calcareous soils were harvested at the end of September. A short maceration period followed by fermentation and maturation for 9 months in used 400l oak barrels.
