Terra de Cuques Negre DOQ 2021 - Terroir al Limit

About the wine

In 2004, Dominik Huber and Eben Sadie launched their Terroir al Limit project in Priorat with the help of the Pérez family. Nothing but terroir should go into the bottle, excellent sites, old vines, farming according to biodynamic principles, spot fermentation, concrete and fuder instead of barrique. After only a few years of experimentation, Dominik has now explored the limits of the terroir and implemented his vision more alone. Terroir al Limit, these are beguiling wines, burgundy in the rock face, erotic black and white photographs, wines of exceptional elegance and mineral power. Very great wines!

Tasting note
Dark mystical figure, everything very dark, night, you don't see it and yet very present - good news, nothing destructive, not a threat, but rather a protector. Dark but bright purple fruit and animalistic notes at a distance, very discreet and elegant, always remaining in the dark, coals, slate, but also very alert, no heaviness. Dark and elegant on the palate, again only in outlines, very soft, light as a shadow, dark fresh fruit, blueberries, cool and fresh, and all accompanied by a magical mineral tension. That's art — and entertainment!
Culinary recommendation
Recommended by Flaschenpöstlern: Terra de Cuques Negre DOQ goes well with burgers with blue cheese, spicy food and spicy dishes.
Vinification
Very selective hand reading. Whole grape fermentation with stems in vats of vine-grown yeasts, no pigeage, short maceration, ageing and maturing (approx. 14 months) in concrete tanks and large barrels.
