About the wine
With experience and intuition, the winemaker from the Italian winery Triacca masters this red wine in the fertile and graceful landscape of Valtellina. With this snappy Nebbiolo 2013 — Sforzato San Domenico Sforzato di Valtellina DOCG, the term taste takes on a new meaning. Culinary tip from Flaschenpöstler: This nebbiolo is ideal to serve with truffle risotto or prosciutto.
Tasting note
Distinctive, varietal bouquet with elegant spicy notes and hints of sultanas and prunes. On the palate, raspberries and spicy notes with very juicy, ripe tannins. Perfectly structured, with a long-lasting finish.
Culinary recommendation
Goes well with strong, dark meat dishes such as beef, lamb, deer, as well as mushroom dishes and truffles.
Vinification
The grapes are selected during harvesting and dried in well-ventilated rooms. The raisined berries lose 30% of their water content. The must yield is correspondingly low and concentrated. Aging for 18 months in oak barrels.
