Schioppettino di Prepotto DOC 2020 - Petrussa

About the wine

Gianni and Paolo run the small winery (25 ha) in the third generation - as children, the two brothers absorbed the values of family and traditional viticulture like sponges. And even today, they remain loyal to them. All the work, and it is hard work, is for wine, for the region, for the country, and not for profit. A lot of manual work, a lot of passion, a lot of intuition. No herbicides or pesticides, not even large machines, but the two brothers carefully accompany the grapes from spring through autumn to the cellar. Great wines, and pleasantly different, each bottle seems full of soul and memories, as if you had been there yourself.

Tasting note
Home, that wonderful feeling of being at home, everything familiar and nourishing the soul. Everything is very harmonious, of course, even the rich and curious depths, a familiar and familiar world, the dark, fresh berry fruit, ethereal notes, the somewhat dated yet indispensable security, marzipan, this wonderful, dark yet gentle spice, all the strange is familiar normality here. On the palate, the familiarity of the unusual again, how soft this dark and also tart, fresh red fruit appears, green plants, baking spices, nutty aromas, lots of natural peace, all completely natural in its fresh and gentle idiosyncrasy: harmony, long peppery yet unagitated aftertaste - Schioppettino!
Vinification
Highly selective manual reading. Very gentle and gentle processing throughout, temperature-controlled fermentation with vineyard's own yeasts, very long yeast storage, aging for 18 months mainly in small oak barrels and further aging for 8 months in the bottle.
