Tasting note
On the nose, there is a waxy note of peach, apple and citrus fruits as well as earth and spices. On the palate, it has a good weight and a slightly oily texture before it has a soft, spicy finish.
Culinary recommendation
Try this wine with a risotto with artichokes and confit red mullet.
Vinification
Named after Don Quixote's horse, this is Bredell's interpretation of a Cape White Blend, which consists of one third each of Chenin Blanc, Grenache Blanc and Roussanne, the former from Stellenbosch and the latter two from Voor Paardeberg - all grapes were harvested on the same day and matured in old 400-liter barrels for nine months.
