About the wine
Sunny and fertile landscapes of Piedmont give us these grapes, from which the winemaker from the Italian winery Rizzi conjures up this red wine with refinement and sensitivity. Flaschenpöstler tip: Combine this Nebbiolo with beef or truffle risotto.
Tasting note
Dense and mineral on the palate, with hints of raspberry, cinnamon and fresh mint, long-lasting finish with a fine-grained texture.
Culinary recommendation
Wonderful accompaniment to all kinds of stews — whether lamb gigot, beef shoulder, roast pork or ossobuco.Wonderful with beef — from steaks to stroganoff to tartare or slow-cooked roasts from the oven.
Vinification
Harvested by hand in the first ten days of October (with possible variations depending on seasonal weather conditions). Fermentation and maceration at a controlled temperature in steel tanks, for approximately 3-4 weeks. Aging for 12 months in large Slovenian wooden barrels, followed by a further 6-9 months in the bottle before the Barbaresco Nervo is released on the market.
