Riesling trocken VDP Gutswein 2022 - Clemens Busch

About the wine

Pünderich is an idyllic village in the Bernkastel area on the Moselle. In 1975, Clemens entered the family business and, together with his wife Rita, has been processing the 10-hectare estate in accordance with ecological guidelines since 1984. After some experience in various wine-growing businesses, their youngest son Johannes is also back on board. The wines of the Buschs come from the Marienburg vineyard. In order to highlight the characteristics of the wines and to respect the respective soil conditions, they grow the wines from different plots separately. The entire aroma of the grape juice is preserved by carefully processing the grapes and without the use of whitening agents. With the help of natural yeasts, some of the wines ferment for over ten months and are then aged mostly in traditional fuder barrels (oak barrels with a capacity of 1000 l). They are all independent, characterful plants with a dense and mineral appearance and a strong connection to their respective terroir. With their distinctive and characterful wines, some of which have great aging potential, the Buschs have been part of Germany's wine elite for a long time.

Tasting note
The fresh and fruity notes combine harmoniously with the fine minerality and the delicate fruit and acidity in the mouth is particularly successful. A beautiful and varietal Moselle Riesling that is fun!
Culinary recommendation
It is suitable both as an aperitif and as an accompaniment to asparagus, quiches and strong freshwater fish. Also with slightly spicy Asian dishes or light lemon desserts.
Vinification
Fermentation over several months on natural yeasts and aging in steel tanks and in large barrel barrels.
