About the wine
The winemaker from the German Weingut Bischel masters this white wine with sensitivity and intuition in the sunny and picturesque landscape of the Rhine Valley. The outstanding white wine 2016 — Riesling trocken Binger Scharlachberg QbA is the missing piece of the puzzle in your wine rack. Flaschenpost team tip: Combine this Riesling to make prawns or mushrooms.
Tasting note
This Riesling presents itself animatingly fresh with typical aromas of grapefruit, yellow peach, pomegranate and wild herbs. On the palate, the tasty, elegant acidity, lots of melting, a certain saltiness and tremendous minerality inspire. An unmistakable and drinkable unique piece, with great aging potential. Pure Riesling!
Culinary recommendation
Goes well with light Far Eastern dishes, tuna, sushi, sashimi, asparagus, white poultry, veal.
Vinification
The Riesling grapes come from the Binger Scharlachberg, one of the largest Riesling sites in Germany. The interpretation of this quartzite-influenced Riesling is a particular challenge for the Runkel brothers. The soil conditions, strict yield limits, grape selection and the long aroma-promoting fermentation period make this wine so wonderfully haunting and minerally powerful.
