About the wine
The landscape in Lower Austria is mountainous and hilly, whose fascinating expanses don't fit on a postcard, but in a bottle. With a lot of feeling and experience, the winemaker from the Austrian winery Gebr. Jurtschitsch ensures that his craft inspires and convinces you. Christmas 2021 is just around the corner! Make the most of it with this dominant white wine 2019 — Ried Lamm Grüner Veltliner! Flaschenpost team tip: Combine this Grüner Veltliner with poultry or an aperitif.
Tasting note
Light green-yellow, silver reflections, attractive fruit notes of apple, some pineapple and mango, a hint of meadow herbs, delicate floral honey, inviting bouquet. Substantial, fine fruit sweetness, fresh acid structure, elegant and well-adhering, very fine to drink today, but is sure to increase even further.
Culinary recommendation
Goes well with Asian food, cheese dishes, fish, beef
Vinification
The grapes were harvested in small boxes by multiple manual selection at the end of October. The gentle rebellion took place in the press house, followed by a 12-hour maceration period. The self-clarifying must fermented slowly without temperature control in 500 liter oak barrels using the vineyard's own, autochthonous yeasts. After tapping in spring, the meaningful Veltliner matured on its fine yeast in the 700-year-old natural cellar at a constant 11° C before being bottled in August.
