About the wine
The wine-growing regions of the French winery Les Aphillanthes stretch across the landscapes of the Côtes du Rhône, where the experienced winemaker produces this red wine. The striking Grenache 2012 — Rasteau AC 1921 is the missing piece of the puzzle in your wine rack. Flaschenpost team tip: Combine this grenache with spicy dishes or vegetables.
Bio
Tasting note
Powerful bouquet of wild berries, spices, dried herbs, horse saddles open up in the nose. It is just as muscular on the palate. The powerful body, the perfectly integrated tannins, the soft texture result in a harmonious interplay with the fruit and animal notes. A must for every Rasteau fan!
Culinary recommendation
Goes well with charcuterie, lamb, mushrooms and vegetables.
Vinification
Grenache, Mourvedre and Carignan. The Grenache growing on the southern slope was planted back in 1921 and produces very low yields. After traditional fermentation in stainless steel tanks, the cuvée matures for 18 months in French oak barrels.
