About the wine
In the province of San Juan, at the foot of the Andes, lies the Pedernal Valley, home of Pyros Wines. The winery was built in 2008 by Myndert Pon, founder of Bodegas Salentein, and is characterised by its special location in a protected valley basin at 1,250 to 1,500 meters above sea level. Expressive wines are produced on the calcareous soils and in a cool, continental climate. Argentinian Paula Gonzáles is responsible for refining these grapes into world-class wines.
Tasting note
Intense and complex on the nose, aromas of peach, pear, green apple, jasmine and white flowers.
Culinary recommendation
Goes well with barbecues, chili con carne, cheese.
Vinification
80% of the grapes picked by hand are aged in steel tanks and 20% in French oak barrels. 6 months in barrel, then at least 3 more months in bottle.
