Pinot Noir Herawingert AOC 2021 - Hofkellerei des Fürsten von Liechtenstein

About the wine

A principality, a court winery — of course, it has hundreds of years of history. And where, if not here, in this small, fine spot, does the term terroir make sense? And that applies just as much to Herawingert, THE vineyard in the Principality, as to the whole philosophy. What is small is protected, i.e. follows (not certified) organic farming, ensures good social interaction in the company, sticks together, and cultivates the elegance of the nobility as well as accessibility and closeness to the people. And so are the wines — especially since Stefan Tscheppe was responsible for vines and wine from 2018: elegance without drinking resistance. Just a stylish treat!

Tasting note
Mind screw — or flowing border. Starts so naturally, a bit stall and with such warm red fruit, some candied orange, warm spice, so comforting, and then slides off into freshness, the character escapes, more incomprehensible, now cutting, direct. On the palate, the warm, soft fruit like a delusion, drifts off into slightly sweet, then distinct freshness, from juicy warm fruit to spicy freshness, tart, herbal seasoning. Sensual and feisty, a diabolical transformation artist.
Culinary recommendation
Von den Flaschenpöstlern empfohlen: Pinot Noir Herawingert AOC harmoniert ausgezeichnet mit rotem Fleisch, Ente und Käse.
Vinification
Selective reading by hand. Slow fermentation of the berries, some of which have not been destemmed, in steel tanks. Aging in mostly used and new oak barrels (500l). Low filtration
