About the wine

The history of the winery dates back to the middle of the 19th century. In 1993, Mona Bastgen and her husband Armin Vogel took over the vineyards - privileged slate slopes near Bernkastel and Kesten - and founded their own Vienna estate. They cultivate just 5 ha, but with even more care, a lot of manual work and organic (certified). In the cellar, too, plenty of space is left for nature, and this is how the small Bastgen winery produces highly acclaimed Rieslings (and others) far away from mainstream: transparent, precise, vibrating.
