A single-varietal meunier made from grapes from very old vines from Vrigny, some of which are even “franc de pied”, i.e. root vines. The base wine was aged in barrels. The name Pataphysics goes back to a word that was coined by Alfred Jarry and is the so-called science of exceptions. Pataphysicists such as Jacques Prevert, Boris Vian, Raymond Queneaux and Juan Miro had vacationed in Vrigny in the 1950s. The nose features aromas of wild berries, candied blood orange, ripe apple and baked apple, framed with subtle spicy notes of toasted almond leaflets, dried flowers, a touch of vanillin and subtle mineral tones. Showing great structure on the palate, with delicate saline spice, fruit and a fine shimmer of maturity, balanced by good freshness.
