Laurel Priorat DOQ 2021 - Clos i Terrasses

About the wine

1989 was a turning year anyway, even in Priorat! On and excited, against the trend, Alvaro Palacios, René Barbier and indeed: Daphne Glorian buy old steep slopes near Grattalops. A crazy idea that would only gradually prove to be a turning point, milestone, stroke of luck for s Priory. To this day, with 10 ha of its own vineyards as Clos I Terrasses, Daphne is at the forefront of the conversion to biodynamic viticulture (from 2004), the use of concrete eggs and clay amphorae and anyway: with the wines themselves. Just two, but even more outstanding cuvees. Laurel and, indeed: Clos Erasmus, what a wine, what a reputation, what a complex, elegant charm! Rare and unique. An icon!

Tasting note
Curious collector. A gentleman, elegant with a tendency to oddities, dark, dexterous and deep the fruit, berries and fruits, that has substance, that is lived, deep, full of spice, witty, lustful, tempting secrets, so dark, dense, warm. On the palate, this quirkily elegant charm again, devoted, flattering, big the full, sweet dark fruit, cassis, seductive, lavishly beautiful and curious, attention to detail, subtle, noble, the dark mineral notes, the fresh, tart traits, licorice, wonderful, lasting impressions! So fascinatingly beautiful and curious - like in a cabinet of wonders!
Culinary recommendation
Flaschenpöstler-Tipp: Laurel Priorat DOQ passt hervorragend zu Pizza mit Pilzen, Gruyère Burger und rotem Fleisch.
