About the wine
Weingut Ebner-Ebenauer is located in Poysdorf, the Grüner Veltliner community in Austria. Since 2007, the dedicated and active winemaker Marion has been managing the winery together with her husband Manfred. Their motto is to combine the traditional with the new without being desperately modern. The 10 hectares of vineyards are between 20 and 60 years old. The proud age of the vines and the focus on the characteristics of the vineyard produce unique wines.
Bio
Tasting note
On the nose, chamomile, hayflowers, ripe apple, with a very Burgundian touch. On the palate, a very soft and full-bodied texture thanks to BSA and batonage, finely carved acidity, juicy, extract-sweet like papaya, delicately spicy in the aftertaste. The wine sticks very well on the palate and has incredible development potential. It is a complex food companion - from Thai curries to game to hearty stews, everything is possible.
Culinary recommendation
Flaschenpost team tip: Goes perfectly with paella, aperitifs and freshwater fish. Our recommendation: The perfect drinking temperature for the white wine is a slightly chilled 7°-10°C. The wine should be enjoyed during this period: 2016 - 2023.
Vinification
Very gentle craft, the wines are only moved by gravity and usually not even filtered. Fermented spontaneously in 500 l oak barrels without temperature control and then stirred and stored on the yeast for a very long time. The fine mineral-spicy aromas of this Grüner Veltliner should combine with the delicate wood and yeast notes and highlight subtlety and individuality.
