About the wine
Achaval Ferrer is a relatively small but all the more refined winery in the province of Mendoza, the wine-growing center of Argentina and founded as a joint project by Santiago Achaval and Manuel Ferrer Minetti. The vineyards reach up to 1100 m and are planted with vines, some of which are up to a hundred years old. Achaval Ferrer now enjoys the reputation of a Rolls Royce among top Argentinean wines. With Malbec, this brilliant, characterful and dark-fruity grape from southwestern France in Argentina, you will experience race, classic and self-confident style.
Tasting note
Santiago Achaval and Manuel Ferrer founded their Achaval-Ferrer winery in Argentina's most important wine-growing region Mendoza at the end of the 1990s. Within a very short period of time, the wines became the highest quality in the country. Achaval-Ferrer is now part of the Tenute del Mondo group, such as Ornellaia. The estate's great treasure is vineyards with vines over a hundred years old, which are located at 700 — 1100 meters above sea level. - Finca Bellavista was planted in 1910. The Achaval-Ferrer Winery is also located here, about half an hour's drive from Mendoza. With its silky structure and juicy acidity, this is an extremely elegant expression of the variety that you will hardly find otherwise.
