About the wine
The winemaker from the Greek winery Ktima Gerovassilou grows this wine in the countryside of Macedonia. Christmas 2021 is just around the corner! Make the most of it with this dominant Shiraz 2019 — Evangelo! Culinary tip from Flaschenpost team: This shiraz can be served very well with venison or barbecue.
Tasting note
This is an elegant wine that combines intense varietal aromas with the improved taste of aged wines.
Culinary recommendation
Preferably with fine wild birds, poultry fried in herbs, dishes in a wine sauce. A nice wine from the BBC, especially with grilled chicken and pork.
Vinification
Fermentation is induced simultaneously for both varieties in 40-hectare Burgundian oak tanks. One of the benefits of adding Viognier is the process of co-pigmentation, which stabilizes the coloration of red wine. In addition to its emollient properties, it gives wine a stabilizing agent and an enhanced aroma. After malolactic fermentation in the same tanks, the wine ages in French oak barrels.
