About the wine
The Roussillon region in the southernmost Catalan part of France, characterized by the Pyrenees and the Mediterranean, has not only attracted artists such as Picasso and Dalí. In Calce near Perpignan, which now enjoys Grand Cru status, Thomas Teibert cultivates wonderful plots with ancient, up to 100-year-old vines (and minimal yields!) his own “paintings”: expressive, characterful wines that express the intensity of the dreamy landscape in a fresh, playful and subtle way, despite drought and summer heat. Teibert, named Discovery of the Year by the “Revue de Vin de France” in 2010, is a profound wine connoisseur who knows what he wants. Based on biodynamic and autochthonous vines, a gentle vinification results in wines of appetizing juiciness and digestibility. The pure wild berry fruit and the natural structure present their own world: vife, not heavy wines that pay homage to nature and its complexity and invite you to philosophize.
