About the wine
This dominant Touriga Franca 2012 — Doda is a triumph down to the last drop in the truest sense of the word! Sunny landscapes in Dão give us these grapes, from which the winemaker from the Portuguese winery Alvaro Castro & Dirk Niepoort conjures up this red wine with refinement and experience. Flaschenpöstler tip: Combine this Touriga Franca with pasta or grilled vegetables.

Tasting note
Medium ruby red Ripened fruit, somewhat reminiscent of strawberry jam. The entire bouquet shows the elegant, volatile character. The body is structured by fine tannins, the acidity is integrated and forms the background for the subtle, mature aromas.
Culinary recommendation
Goes well with foie gras, lamb and poultry.
Vinification
The part from the Dão was fermented from steel in Lagares, the part from the Douro in small steel tanks (20%) and in traditional stone lagares, in which the grapes were gently mashed. Ageing: 21 months in French oak barrels.
