About the wine

Merum Priorati with its modern wine press is located in the town of Porrera at the very east of the Priorat. The mighty Montsant mountain range protects it from the cold northerly winds, which cool off at night from the nearby sea. Porrera is therefore one of the coolest corners of the otherwise very hot Priorat. The vines appreciate this and thank them with finesse and elegance. The soils dominated by slate (“licorella”) are not particularly profound, which forces the vines to have deep roots and brings complexity, richness and minerality to the wines. In addition to international vines, the grape variety table includes traditional Garnacha and Carignena. |
