About the wine
The winemaker from the French winery Domaine Julien Pilon greets us with this wine, which he grows in the Côtes du Rhône countryside. There is always something left over from Christmas dinner. Do you know that? Why not invite your friends over for a glass of wine in the afternoon to enjoy the festive meal again and we recommend this subtle Viognier 2021. The Flaschenpöstler promise a culinary experience when you offer this viognier with roasted poultry with lemon sauce or potatoes.
Tasting note
This Condrieu is brilliant light yellow with green reflections. On the nose, an aromatic potpourri of nectarine, apricot and citrus paired with tropical notes and spicy notes of flower meadow and some vanilla delights. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied and energetic with lots of yellow fruit, some pome fruit, juicy acidity and a long-lasting, spicy and mineral aftertaste. A top Condrieu with great aging potential.

Vinification
The grapes for this Condrieu come from five different terroirs (Jeanraude, Verlieu, Peyrolland, Sainte Agathe and Bassenon). The sites all have very steep slopes with granite-rich and sandy soils with little foundation and they face south and southeast. All plots are harvested by hand and vinified separately. The aging takes place in barriques for 10 months, using approx. 10% virgin wood before the final assemblage takes place.
