About the wine
With the dominant white wine 2018 — City On A Hill Chenin Blanc, nuances and accents are redefined. With experience and intuition, the winemaker from the South African winery City On A Hill masters this white wine in the fertile and sunny landscape of the coastal region. Culinary tip from Flaschenpost team: This Chenin Blanc is ideal to be served with puff pastry or pretzel sticks.

Tasting note
Subtle and seductive aromas of peach, lemon, naartjie and hay, while the palate is characterized by excellent fruit definition and bright acidity, the finish is long and spicy. Pure, balanced and straight forward.
Culinary recommendation
Goes fantastically with grilled kingcrab with salsa verde, fried asparagus with buffalo mozzarella and prosciutto, char siu pork belly with citrus seasoning and fresh cilantro.
Vinification
André Bruyns, assistant to David and Nadia Sadie's winemaker, makes wine under his own label called City on a Hill. This project was launched in 2015, and its first release was a white assemblage. He sources grapes from old vineyards and vinifies the grapes as naturally as possible, focusing on location-specific wines. In addition to a white blend, André also produces a red wine, a Chenin Blanc and a Muscat d'Alexandrie. The grapes for Chenin Blanc come from three Paardeberg vineyards, which were planted in 1976, 1981 and 1998, respectively.
