About the wine
The gravelly soils in Bordeaux form the breeding ground for this Sauvignon Blanc. The winemaker from the French winery Château La Chèze knows how to use them and delights us with this white wine. A must for connoisseurs, this provocative Sauvignon Blanc 2016 — Chateau La Cheze blanc! Flaschenpöstler tip: Combine this Sauvignon Blanc with goat cheese or mussels.
Tasting note
Ginger, cardamom and nutmeg, together with elderflower, white peach and quince, form a distinctive and interesting aroma picture. The light wood finish is characterized by a fine honey note. On the palate, it has a strong and spicy-tart taste with well-integrated acidity. La Chèze blanc is an excellent, aromatic representative of its kind at an extremely attractive price.
Culinary recommendation
Our recommendation: The perfect drinking temperature for the white wine is a slightly chilled 10°-12°C. The wine should be enjoyed during this period: 1-4 years after harvest. Recommended by Flaschenpöstlern: Goes well with goat cheese, white meat and fish.
Vinification
Information on vinification: The fully ripened grapes are harvested exclusively by hand. After pressing, the must is fermented in barriques for approx. 2 to 3 weeks. The maturation takes approx. 8 to 12 months, during which the yeast is stirred up more often (bâtonnage).
