About the wine
Do you already know the strong white wine Chardonnay Neusatz Leithagebirge from the 2013 vintage? If not, it's time! With sensitivity and intuition, the winemaker from the Austrian winery Anton Kollwentz masters this white wine in the picturesque countryside of Burgenland. Flaschenpöstler culinary tip: This Chardonnay is excellent to serve with goat cheese or truffles.
Now until 2032
Tasting note
Power, acidity, minerality here is all in one, the Neusatz location on the southern slope of the Leitha Mountains, the warmth of the sun is balanced by the fresh westerly winds and makes the wine shine in a different splendor, as this wind also has other very positive attributes for the grapes. Spicy, intense nose of yellow fruits, fine yeast notes on the palate, plus the fact that it has a mineral freshness despite its 14% and aging in Burgundian barrique. Very juicy, concentrated and balanced, it ends with a long-lasting finale.
Culinary recommendation
Goes well with white veal, rabbit and gitzi ragout. Grilled sea fish, crustaceans and ripe alpine cheese.
Vinification
Fully ripe, healthy grapes are selectively harvested by hand Ageing in Burgundy piéce, 18 months on the lees
