May we introduce our new Oggau family member?! Cecilia! You see it, you try it, you feel it, it inspires you. She doesn't care about conventions and can't be pigeonholed up. It shows that it is good to be a bit different. Mixed in white and red, rooted on limestone, it shines brightly and is much more defined off the beaten path. The limestone soil releases a distinctive character. This should only be the beginning of a journey that we want to take with her. A journey into the true self, without any adjustment. With Cecilia, it's less about impressing, it's just about staying independent and free. A 1.4ha plot of land is planted in a mixed set (red and white grape varieties), which Steffi and Eduard have recultivated. 2/3 of the grapes are pressed directly and 1/3 crushed. The must is fermented spontaneously in large wooden containers and is neither polished, filtered or additionally sulfurized during ageing. Aged in 1500l wooden barrels from the Stockinger cooperage. A mix of white and red. A fresh, deep and mineral rosé that shines in a soft red color in the glass. An explosion of taste. Rosehip, wild strawberries and a bit of rose. Consistently dry and mineral. A solitaire and a rosé that is completely “out of the box”. Great stuff!
