About the wine
Bodegas Covitoro was founded in 1974 as a cooperative by a number of winemakers and opened in 1978 after the winery was built. The participating winemakers own vineyards in different areas of Toros. This offers an interesting variety and the best mix. The company is characterized by the particularly high proportion of very old vineyards. Covitoro processes a total of approx. 1000 ha of grapes. Only Tinta de Toro is used for the red wine.
Tasting note
Our wine recommendation for game: 100-year-old vines provide finesse and intensity. Dense red with purple reflections, over 100-year-old vines provide the high-quality juice for this fantastic wine. The fine nuances of the scent line up almost endlessly: cherry, cassis, roasted coffee, dried plum, licorice
On the palate, everything is perfect, fine fruit meets delicate spice, rounded off by a fine woody note, intense but extremely rich in finesse.
Culinary recommendation
Goes well with Schön to enjoy alone or with hearty meat dishes, excellent with game, smoked and air-dried ham.

10 months in French Allier oak.
