About the wine
The winemaker from the Italian winery Azienda Agricola Stefano Berti has absolutely mastered his craft. Elegance and finesse are the characteristics of this red wine, which originates in the fertile and flourishing countryside of Emilia-Romagna. We have a special, biting Sangiovese from 2012 for you, which is enthralled by many wine connoisseurs. The Flaschenpöstler promise a culinary experience when you serve this Sangiovese with lamb or beef.
Tasting note
The color of Calistos is a dense ruby red. The bouquet is multi-faceted, with notes of ripe fruit and dark berries supported by a balsamic component. The taste of Calisto is a typical Sangiovese, straight, with rich fruit on present but well-integrated tannins.
Culinary recommendation
Von den Flaschenpöstlern empfohlen: Calisto DOC Riserva harmoniert hervorragend mit Pasta, Lamm und Pizza.
Vinification
The mash fermentation takes place at around 28°C without adding pure yeast and takes around 3 weeks. The wine is then aged for one year in Allier barriques, which are in second occupancy at most.
