Bourgogne Aligoté 2020 - Domaine Coffinet-Duvernay

About the wine

The small Coffinet winery, family-owned since 1860, 7 hectares of prime locations, excellent 1er cru, majestic Grand Cru around Chassagne, did not fill its own wines until the young, newly in love couple, Laura Coffinet and Philippe Duvernay, came to the winery, somewhat future-free. After just a short time, everything was clear: the father loves the “stepson” because of his loving treatment of his daughter and the vines. From 1989, now under the new name, bottles are gradually being filled, vinified in a very traditional way, but with “modern” concentration. Wonderfully generous, fresh, lively wines with great aging potential. A celebrated secret tip today, but for how long! Be sure to try!

Tasting note
Supporting actor - awarded for Oscar. Is not in the limelight, doesn't push there, and yet plays very big and confident, quiet yet full of calm charisma, without any nervousness, plays with ease and elegance, multi-faceted, beautiful, very bright fruit, floral gestures, a touch of warmth, almost melancholy, nut, wax. Fuller and richer on the palate, the hearts now play, warmer in expression, orange the fruit, again nut, horn, more serious the mine, the minerality, always stylish and to the point, the tone is still quiet, wonderful fine, ripe acidity, long applause. Here, supporting actor Aligoté plays many Chardonnays on the wall. Excellent this year!
Vinification
Selective reading by hand. Very gentle processing, fermentation with vineyard's own yeasts and aging in used oak barrels. No fining or filtration
