Tasting note
The Barbaresco DOCG Roncaglie from Vietti has a medium ruby red color. On the nose, it shows complex aromas of ripe red fruits such as raspberries and sour cherries, combined with sophisticated, floral rose notes, plus a touch of mint and mineral nuances. On the palate, it impresses with intense fruit aromas and distinctive, finely spicy tannins, which are well integrated. A long finish with fine licorice notes forms the impressive finale.
Culinary recommendation
Flaschenpöstler tip: Goes well with beef, prosciutto, and burrata. The wine should be enjoyed during this period: Now until 2031.
Vinification
The Barbaresco DOCG Roncaglie from Vietti is made from 100% Nebbiolo. The grapes were picked by hand and then completely destemmed. They were then in contact with the mash in a stainless steel fermentation tank for around three weeks. The biological acid degradation took place in used barriques, after which the wine was aged in large wooden barrels for around 30 months, and a small part was stored in barriques. The wine was bottled unfiltered.
