About the wine
The winemaker from the Italian winery Santi in the fertile and blooming landscape of Veneto masters this red wine with sensitivity and intuition. With the fine Amarone della Valpolicella DOC, which was produced in 2013, you will certainly have a lot of fun.
Tasting note
Dense, dark garnet red robe. Intense bouquet with notes of plums, raisins, cinnamon, cloves and cherry jam. Full-bodied, velvety, slightly spicy, with elegant precious wood notes. A typical aftertaste of grilled almonds in Amarone.
Culinary recommendation
Goes well with the back of venison in teriyaki sauce, with duck breast with blackcurrant vinegar or with pork medallions in cranberry sauce.
Vinification
A few words about vinification: In order to achieve a natural concentration, the grapes are air-dried in roof canes. Before fermentation, which lasts around one month at the end of January, the grapes are crushed. The Amarone is aged for at least 3 years in large wooden barrels. He then enjoys a bottle rest for 6 months before being released on the market.
