Tasting note
The riserva, which is only produced in particularly good years, shows a delicate bouquet of ripe, dark berries and amarena cherries with finely underlaid spicy notes. On the palate, it impresses with its powerful, dense structure, great aromatic complexity and fine, ripe tannins. A taste experience that lingers for a long time.
Culinary recommendation
Flaschenpost team recommends you to go with truffle risotto, beef and pizza. Our recommendation: The red wine tastes best at a slightly chilled 18°-20°C. The following period is the ideal enjoyment phase of this wine: 4-12 years after the harvest.
Vinification
A few words about vinification: The grapes, carefully picked by hand, are subjected to a long mash fermentation, whereby the pomace cap is constantly pumped over and stirred during the first few days. Before stripping off, the wine is allowed a long rest period. The total maturation period in wooden barrels is 36 months, of which 40% in Slavonian oak (25 hl) and 60% in French oak barriques. Bottle filling is followed by a further 8 months of maturation in the bottle.
