About the wine
With this present Tempranillo 2014 — Vina Sastre Crianza Ribera del Duero DO, the term taste takes on a new meaning. The winemaker from the Spanish winery Vina Sastre absolutely masters his craft. Style and finesse are the characteristics of this red wine, which originates in the enchanting and graceful landscape of the Duero Valley (Castilla y Leon). Flaschenpöstler culinary tip: This tempranillo is ideal to serve with polenta or pizza.
Tasting note
The Vina Sastre Crianza is a deep cherry-red wine. It delights with its aromas of dark forest fruits, bread bark, spices and some vanilla, chocolate and a mineral note. A powerful and opulent red wine that seduces with finesse and shines with an immense aftertaste. The wood is very well integrated and wonderfully delicate. The 2006 vintage was rated 95/100 points by Guia Peñin 2010. We are looking forward to the latest reviews of the current year.

Vinification
The grapes for Crianza come from 20-60 year old vines, which take root along the Duero River at around 800 m above sea level. When caring for the vineyards, no chemicals are used. The wine is aged in new French and American oak for 14 months before being bottled.
