About the wine
When Franco Scamperle had to take over the management of the estate from one day to the next after his father's serious work accident at the end of the eighties as a freshly baked oenologist, Le Salette was a completely unknown winery that, in addition to Valpolicella and Recioto, produced a few bottles of Amarone La Marega. Since then, he has put his modern and innovative ideas into practice and continuously improved the quality of his wines.
Tasting note
Dark ruby red Intense fruity bouquet with notes of dark berries, violets, orange peel, tobacco, molasses. Despite the alcohol, it has a certain lightness and finesse, subtle in tannins, fresh in acidity and rounded off with a nice extract sweetness.
Vinification
Classic ripasso process using Amarone mash that is still warm to fermentation. Aged for 18 months in Slovenian oak barriques.
