About the wine

Tobias Schmid founded the family business in 1866, which is now managed by Christoph Schmid in the 5th generation. Winegrowing has an ancient tradition in the St. Gallen Rhine Valley and dates back far back to Roman times. The vineyards are already mentioned in the oldest Bernecker document from 892. Castles and palaces were built in the vineyards. This also includes Rosenburg, which is owned by our family and is the landmark of our wines and winery.
