Teodosio Aglianico del Vulture DOC 2020 - Basilisco

About the wine

This outstanding red wine 2014 — Teodosio Aglianico del Vulture DOC is, in the truest sense of the word, a hit right down to the last drop! Blooming and fertile landscapes in Basilicata give us these grapes, from which the winemaker from the Italian winery Basilisco conjures up this red wine with refinement and sensitivity. Culinary tip from Flaschenpöstler: This Aglianico is ideal to serve with fried potatoes or leek vegetables.

BasiliscoRed wine | 75clThe individual character of this wine is due to Aglianico. Outstanding nuances of plum and white pepper give it its refreshing structures.
Tasting note
Its noble ruby red crowns every festive time with style and elegance. You won't find this shade in any color catalog. The Teodosio Aglianico del Vulture DOC plum bouquet shows a complex aroma character and a lot of finesse. The outstanding notes of white pepper, black cherry and smoke create their individual texture. Powerful body and outstanding acidity make the red wine, which, with dominant tannins in the mouth, shows plenty of character and class.
Culinary recommendation
Our recommendation: Drink this red wine at a slightly chilled 16°-18°C. The wine should be enjoyed during this period: Now until 2023. Recommended by Flaschenpöstlern: Teodosio Aglianico del Vulture DOC goes well with beef tartar, fried potatoes and leek vegetables.
Vinification
The vinification took place as follows: The autochthonous Aglianico grape variety is used for the typical wine of this area. The harvest is followed by fermentation in stainless steel tanks. The wine is then aged for ten to twelve months in French barriques, which are in use for the second and sometimes for the third year.
