About the wine
Sauvignon blanc is native to the Loire Valley, where it produces famous wines such as Sancerre or Pouilly-Fumé. The 275 hectare Simonsig Estate is located northwest of Stellenbosch, South Africa's famous first-class wine-growing region. Simonsig's wine tradition dates back to 1953 with wine pioneer Frans Malan. Today, the three sons Johan, François and Pieter run the winery.

Tasting note
Pale pale yellow. Distinctive bouquet of gooseberries and pink grapefruit with a slight note of cassis. Fresh and racy on the palate. Very typical of the variety, should be drunk young.
Culinary recommendation
Undisputed aperitif wine, served with Cantadou crackers, for example. It also goes very well with smoked salmon or trout.
Vinification
Was removed in stainless steel tanks.
