About the wine
Fertile and blooming landscapes give us these grapes, from which the winemaker from the Italian winery Ridolfi conjures up this red wine with refinement and sensitivity. Christmas 2021 is just around the corner! Make the most of it with this outstanding Sangiovese 2019 — Rosso di Montalcino DOC. Culinary tip from Flaschenpöstler: This Sangiovese is perfect with pasta or lamb.
Tasting note
The Rosso di Montalcino DOC is generally dismissed somewhat contemptuously as the little brother of Brunello di Montalcino. Not so with Ridolfi: The wine shows a wonderful drinking flow, lots of tension and depth, and wonderful cherry aromas, which are so typical of Sangiovese. Mediterranean spices and ethereal notes round off the taste experience. After fermentation, the wine is aged in large oak barrels for 6 months. The amount of Rosso di Montalcino is limited, only just one hectare is grown at Ridolfi
